The article titled, Remote Monitoring in Data Centers Progresses with Emerging DCiM Systems discusses traditional data center monitoring systems, Network Management Systems (NMS) and Building Management Systems (BMS) and how the recent emergence of Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCiM) provides a solution to the blind spots the two systems leave when managing the data center.

In the article, Mitchell discusses the potential impact that DCiM systems can have on the data center industry noting, “The added value, both tangible and intangible, from DCiM systems and like technology offer unprecedented flexibility, control and visualization into data center operations and management.
