WARNING: Please read through the instructions thoroughly before proceeding to update your unit. Failure to follow the instructions exactly MAY damage your unit and MAY VOID your warranty.

1. Download the latest firmware for your device from here.
2. Connect the RacSense unit with a CROSS-OVER CABLE or via a local LAN to the computer that will be used for the update. Trying to update a RacSense unit via the internet or WAN MAY damage the unit and MAY VOID YOUR WARRANTY.
3. If using a cross-over cable, change your Network Interface Card's (NIC) settings to the following:
   IP address '192.168.123.100'
   Subnet Mask '255.255.255.0'
   Gateway '192.168.123.1'
   
   You may restore the NIC's previous settings once the firmware update is complete.
4. If you have enabled the built-in Windows firewall or any third-party firewall, disable it before continuing.
5. Extract the zip file to an easy to find location (ie a folder on your desktop or at the root level of your hard disk)
6. Open the folder in Windows Explorer.
7. Double-click on the 'updater.exe' file and follow the on-screen instructions.
8. If everything works properly, the device should be available for use about two minutes after the update is complete.

1. Add your RacSense to the Servers list in the Geist Console. It is NOT necessary to connect to the unit via a crossover cable when updating via Console.
2. Download the latest firmware for your device from: here.
3. Place the downloaded .zip file in the Console firmwares directory (typically C:\Firmware on the machine running Console).
   Do not unzip the file.
4. Go to the Firmware tab in Console and select a firmware version from the dropdown box on the right-hand side of the page for each RacSense in need of updating .
5. Click the "Update" button and the Console will begin updating devices. Refresh the page to see update progress.
6. After the firmware update is complete, the RacSense will reboot and Console should show its status as "Ready" after a few minutes. If the unit does not reboot properly or there is an error during the update, Console will give an error message.
