Random voltage spikes cause real, irreparable damage to critical equipment. Surge suppression is ideal for smaller environments that do not have protective surge suppression at the facility level, or just when additional protection is needed.
Parallel circuitry keeps these surge PDUs working as a power strip, even if a surge or spike disables surge suppression. Geist’s surge PDUs are available with or without local meter displays in a variety of 15A and 20A /120V NEMA configurations.
The current meter option provides an accurate True RMS reading of the current draw to monitor PDU performance closely and ensure that equipment power usage is within acceptable ranges – helping avoid nuisance breaker trips.
The power meter offers more detailed power information through a scrolling display of the four critical power measurements: Power Factor, Amps, Volts and Watts.
Either meter is especially useful when adding, removing or adjusting equipment, because they provide instant power usage feedback, helping you avoid overloading your PDU.
Surge PDUs come in 19-inch horizontals and vertical lengths from 17 to 72 inches. They are constructed with heavy-duty, powder-coated steel housings, so they are durable and long lasting.
